Clearwater, Florida

Happy Saturday!

I am writing this blog for the second time, and I have no idea what happened to the first one. Technology is so great sometimes. I hope it’s as beautiful where you are, as it is in PA today!

Earlier this month, my mom and I took a trip to Clearwater. We were looking for a getaway from the perpetual winter we’ve been having. (I kid you not, it ended last week) On my list of things I wanted to try was acai bowls! We stopped at Rahvia Acai Bowls and I got the tropical bowl. It was so yummy! I’m all about tasty snacks that are still whole foods.

We picked Clearwater because we wanted somewhere family friendly, and relaxing. The Gulf of Mexico was beautiful and clear. IMG_1085-4

During our visit we went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium to see the dolphins of Dolphin Tale. It was small and sweet, and took us about half an hour to tour. It would take more time if you plan to stop at any presentations.

We went on the “family tropical cruise” the next day. It was a nice boat ride around the bay while they taught us about sea turtles.

The weather was beautiful the duration of our short trip. We encountered a storm once in the evening, and again the day we left. Otherwise it was warm around 70-80 degrees.

Our view from the Dreamview Resort. It had a nice private beach, and all day dining. Just make sure your reservations specify “ocean view”. The premium rooms just guarantee top floor. Not a fan of that, but otherwise it was a lovely stay.

Busch Gardens, Tampa! My favorite were the African animals, and the Morocco section. We also saw a neat ice show.

Our last stop before heading out the next day was the International Mall. Mom had to see the Brighton Store, and I needed to try these macarons. (Don’t worry, I shared)

Overall it was a very pleasant winter escape. We didn’t have a single bad day or any bad food. Seriously, all the food was amazing.

Do you have any trips planned? I’d love to hear about them!
